The Kerala High Court has directed the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) to pay ₹1,227.62 crore to the Kerala government for the release of its 'Akiteta II' ship after the 'Elsa 3' ship capsized off the state's coast on May. This comes after the Kerala government had filed a suit demanding ₹9,531-crore compensation from MSC, the world's largest shipping firm.
