A senior MSRTC clerk, Prathamesh Pawar, was arrested for embezzling ₹21.8 lakh meant for income tax payments by diverting funds into his personal account between 2018 and 2024. An audit exposed the fraud. Pawar, who allegedly acted due to stock market losses, fled to Odisha before being caught in Mumbai. Police have filed a chargesheet and seek fund recovery.
