Bangladesh's interim government leader Muhammad Yunus has ruled out the possibility of contesting general elections that will be held in 2026. This would be Bangladesh's first national vote since the ouster of ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Yunus, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, was appointed to lead the interim government in August last year.
