Sharpshooter Shahrukh Pathan, linked to gangs of Sanjeev Jeeva and Mukhtar Ansari, was shot dead in an encounter with the police in UP's Muzaffarnagar, officials said. Pathan opened fire on police, following which police shot him dead in retaliatory firing, the Times of India reported. Three pistols and more than 60 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the spot.
