Ranbir Batra, owner of New Yorker, announced the closure of Mumbai's iconic four-decade-old Chowpatty Restaurant New Yorker on September 11. Batra said, "Due to some unforeseen...circumstances that we have to shut our doors...but we pray this is not the end." The restaurant was founded by Tony Batra. There is speculation that the building may be going in for redevelopment.
