Mumbai's first electric water taxi service will debut on September 22, 2025, reducing travel time between Gateway of India/Mumbai Ferry Wharf and JNPA to under 40 minutes. Operated by Bharat Freight Group, the first phase includes a hybrid and a fully electric boat, with hydrogen-powered vessels planned later. Expansion routes to Elephanta, Belapur, and Alibaug are also in the pipeline.
