Mumbai's Zaveri Bazaar is currently facing a severe shortage of physical silver, with traders selling the precious metal at premiums of up to ₹30,000. Almost all traders have stopped taking new orders for silver during the festival season. As per the India Bullion and Jewellers Association’s closing rate on Tuesday, the per kilogram value of silver was ₹1.78 lakh.
