On Vijayadashami, Kerala Kalamandalam will witness a historic first as 16-year-old Sabri N, the institute's first Muslim girl Kathakali student, will take the stage. She enrolled in the Kathakali course in 2023 and will debut in Krishna vesham, a dance form blending drama and music based on the Ramayana. Sabri will perform alongside six peers, all Hindus.
