SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch said the mutual fund industry is like the regulator's "bada beta (elder son)". The industry plays an important role in financial inclusion, she stated. She further said the Stewardship Code, a framework for the mutual fund industry to engage with investee companies, has "huge value" and should be used to make investors' voices heard.
