Myanmar's acting President, Myint Swe, has died at 74 after a prolonged illness. Myint Swe, who assumed the ceremonial role in 2021 after the military coup, died at a military hospital in Naypyitaw. Senior Gen Min Aung Hlaing had been handling presidential duties since July 2024, as Myint Swe was on medical leave for over a year.
