Kolkata Police took to X and stated that several social media accounts are spreading false information that it unlawfully arrested law student Sharmishta Panoli for opposing Pakistan. "This narrative is mischievous and misleading," it added. "[She] wasn't arrested for expressing patriotism...legal actions were taken for sharing offensive content which promotes hatred among communities," it added.
