NASA researchers found large lumps of rocky debris from ancient planetary collisions, some up to four kilometres across, scattered within the mantle of Mars. The researchers used seismic data from eight marsquakes recorded by NASA's InSight lander. Mars' lack of plate tectonics has preserved its interior since its formation, acting as a time capsule of its violent early history.
