NASA shared images of the Andromeda galaxy, aka M31, the closest spiral galaxy to the Milky Way. The new images were taken by some of the world’s most powerful telescopes, including NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, in different lights. M31, which is 2.5 million light-years away, played an important role in many aspects of astrophysics, particularly in discovery of dark matter.
