Actor Manoj Bajpayee said in an interview that his definition of acting "changed completely after watching" actor Naseeruddin Shah. Bajpayee stated, "Just watching his performances, trying to understand his approach, taught me so much...I began applying those techniques to my own theatre work." He added, Naseeruddin's "work left me restless...I suddenly found myself clueless, standing at zero."
