The opening of Navi Mumbai International Airport, scheduled for September 30, is delayed because of heavy rain creating access problems at the site, as stated by Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik. He added that the decision to name the airport after DB Patil rests with the Centre. The visit of Prime Minister Modi might also be affected.
