Chaitanya Raj Singh of erstwhile kingdom of Jaisalmer claimed that the map shown in the NCERT Social Science textbook for Class 8 depicts Jaisalmer as a part of the then Maratha empire. "This is historically misleading, factually baseless, and deeply objectionable," he added. Stating that no source mentions Maratha invasion in Jaisalmer, Singh urged Centre to get it corrected immediately.
