India’s NCRTC has launched the first solar-on-track system in a metro or rapid transit network at the Namo Bharat Depot in Duhai. The project uses 28 solar panels over a 70-metre track, generating 17,500 kWh annually and cutting 16 tonnes of carbon emissions. This initiative supports India’s renewable energy goals and sustainable urban transport development.
