India's javelin star Neeraj Chopra won the Golden Spike meet with a modest effort of 85.29 m. Following the victory, Chopra brought the Golden Spike Trophy to the stands, followed by greetings and autographs for all his fans who had come to cheer him in Ostrava. Douw Smit of South Africa and Anderson Peters of Granada finished second and third, respectively.
