Ahead of the 2026 general elections, Nepal's Gen-Z group announced plans to form a political party, with their participation conditional on certain "bottom-line" demands. These include a directly elected executive system and voting rights for Nepalis living abroad. Gen-Z led protests last month against corruption and a social media ban, resulted in the ouster of K P Sharma Oli government.
