Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu will seek cabinet's backing for a plan to completely occupy Gaza despite objections from Israel Defense Forces (IDF), reports claimed. Israel controlled Gaza from 1967 until 2005, after which it was left to be governed by Palestinian Authority, with control ultimately shifting to Hamas in 2006. IDF currently claims to hold approximately 75% of the territory.
