Justice Chandiwal, who headed the commission to probe monthly ₹100 crore extortion case involving former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, said that no clean chit was granted to Deshmukh in the case. In 2022 several media reports claimed that Justice Chandiwal Commission had given a clean chit to Anil Deshmukh in a report submitted to the then-CM Uddhav Thackeray.
