Provisions of the new Income-Tax Bill 2025 have raised concerns that it'll allow Income Tax Department officials to snoop on taxpayers. The provisions allow officials to bypass passwords, encryption mechanisms and digital access keys to access records on platforms like emails and social media accounts. CBDT chief Ravi Agarwal said, "This is strictly restricted to search and seizure operations."
