UK researchers at Cardiff University have identified eight new genes linked to schizophrenia, improving understanding of the disorder. The study, published in Nature Communications, found rare mutations in protein-coding genes. Two genes, STAG1 and ZNF136, showed strong links, while six others showed moderate evidence of association.
