Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk wrote an open letter to PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday. Wangchuk said that if glaciers continue to melt at the present rate, the next Maha Kumbh might only happen on "sandy remains of sacred (rivers)". He also requested the PM to take the lead in framing special policies to protect the Himalayan glaciers.
