The next Vice President of India will be from the BJP, and not from its coalition partners in the NDA, including the JD(U) and the TDP, according to reports, which cited sources. The candidate will be somebody with a "strong ideological alignment" with the BJP, who can further the government's legislative agenda in the Rajya Sabha as its ex-officio chairperson.
