Nine people, including six from the radical group Arambai Tenggol, were arrested for abducting and killing 29-year-old Chesam Abdul Kadir, a mentally challenged man from Imphal West. His body was found near the Nambul River. The case has sparked outrage, especially among the Meitei Pangal community. Police also seized five vehicles linked to the crime.
