NCERT's Michel Danino has issued clarification that there's "no attempt to demonise Mughal rulers" after the new Class 8 Social Science textbook flagged brutality and intolerance under the Mughals and Delhi Sultanate. He said Class 8 students are expected to analyse India’s past with deeper thinking. NCERT added that all facts in the book are based on credible academic sources.
