Amid the surge in heart attack fatalities in Hassan district, a Karnataka government-appointed expert committee has found no link between sudden cardiac deaths and prior COVID-19 infection/vaccination. The report has attributed the rise to an increase in conventional risk factors like hypertension, obesity, and diabetes. Hassan district has recorded over 20 deaths due to heart attacks in 40 days.
