After the Central government issued a gazette notification for 2027 census, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate criticised the delay, saying, "There is no mention of the caste census here, a promise that the government said would be fulfilled on the 30th April." She added, “Rahul Gandhi will ensure there will be a caste census and by the Centre itself."
