Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw warned that there would be "absolutely no mercy" on those supplying low-quality material to railways. He urged the industry to revamp its processes and improve manufacturing, quality control, material selection, and procurement. The ministry aims to construct around 7,000km of high-speed dedicated passenger corridors by 2047, with speeds up to 350km/h, he said.
