Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that there is "absolutely no proposal which has come from any quarters" to lift the ban on TikTok in India. This comes amid recent reports suggesting that the China-based short video app could make a comeback as India-China relations have begun to thaw. Government had banned TikTok in June 2020, citing national security concerns.
