District Magistrate of UP's Sambhal, Rajender Pensiya, announced that no sacrificial slaughter would be permitted in public places on Bakrid, adding that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disturb public order. "Sacrifices will be allowed only at 19 pre-identified sites," Pensiya said. No public or open space will be used for animal sacrifice, he added.
