PM Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the Northeast had earlier suffered heavily due to vote bank politics. "But due to efforts of BJP-led government at the Centre for last 11 years, the region has now become India's growth engine," he added. While launching the Bairabi-Sairang railway line, he said it would connect Mizoram's capital Aizawl with major metropolises.
