Former UP DGP Dr Vikram Singh addressed the controversy over police encounters, stating that while they happen, not all are orchestrated. He highlighted legal safeguards like NHRC reporting and magisterial inquiries and shared that he personally dealt with fake encounters in Agra and Etah, ensuring convictions. Singh emphasised that fake encounters are even more serious than ordinary murders.
