West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee claimed that National Register of Citizens (NRC) was the real intent behind Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of draft electoral rolls across country. On Constitution Day, CM Mamata added that the citizenship of people in the country is being questioned. She also claimed earlier that 35 people died due to SIR in the state.
