The district administration in Bihar's Jehanabad, 50km from Patna, built a ₹100-crore road, under a road widening project, with trees still standing in the middle of it. State environment department had refused to allow cutting down trees and had instead demanded compensation for 14-hectare forest land. The trees in the middle of the road aren't even planted in straight line.
