Police resorted to lathi-charge and used tear gas to disperse crowd gathered to protest court-ordered survey of Mughal-era Shahi Jama Masjid in UP's Sambhal on Sunday. The mosque survey team was escorted out of the area after the crowd threw stones at them and torched some vehicles, police said. A petition claimed the mosque was built on temple ruins.
