Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, in a letter to employees said that the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad "is one of the darkest days in the Tata Group's history." He stated, "To lose a single person we know is a tragedy, but for so many deaths to occur at once is incomprehensible." 241 people onboard died in the incident.
