ONGC, through its R&D arm OECT, has partnered with EIL to set up helium recovery demonstration plant at Kuthalam, Tamil Nadu. This project, valued at ₹39.42 crore, will recover 99.995% pure helium from natural gas using CSIR-IIP technology. The plant, with capacity of 750 Nm3/hr, is expected to be completed within 18 months, boosting India's self-reliance in this critical resource.
