In the recently concluded Bihar polls, where the NDA secured a majority, five former IPS officers contested the elections, but only one emerged victorious. Ex-IPS Anand Mishra won the Buxar seat on a BJP ticket. Ex-IPS Shivdeep Lande, former DGP Brij Kishore Dubey, former Bihar DGP Rakesh Kumar Mishra, and ex-IPS Jai Prakash Singh were all defeated.
