Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis told activist Deepak Borhade, on an indefinite hunger strike, that only the Centre can grant Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Dhangar community. "This is a constitutional matter, and different from the Maratha reservation issue," he added. He, however, assured that state government would hold talks with the Centre and submit a proposal on this matter.
