An oil portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, believed to be only one he sat for artist to paint, was sold in an online auction in London on Tuesday for ₹1.7 crore. The portrait by Clare Leighton got sold for triple of its estimate of ₹57 lakh to ₹80 lakh. This is the first time the portrait has been offered at auction.
