Former Apple CEO John Sculley opined that ChatGPT-maker OpenAI has become Apple's first "real competitor" in many decades. "Artificial intelligence (AI) has not been a particular strength for them," Sculley said about the iPhone maker. Sculley stated that whoever replaces the current CEO Tim Cook would need to help Apple transition from the apps era to the agentic era.
