OpenAI shut down for a week to help employees recharge as some reported working 80 hours/week, WIRED reported. In a memo to employees, Chief Research Officer Mark Chen said, "Meta knows we're taking this week to recharge and will...pressure you to make decisions fast and in isolation." Chen was referring to Meta poaching OpenAI executives for its new AI lab.
