As ruling Trinamool Congress launches a full-fledged campaign in Kaliganj assembly by-election of Nadia district, the opposition remains mired in internal strife. The by-election, necessitated by death of sitting MLA Nasiruddin Ahmed, has seen TMC quickly field his daughter, Alifa Ahmed, as their candidate. Alifa is capitalising on early start while opposition struggles to present a united front.
