Complex organic molecules have been found frozen in ice around a young star in the Large Magellanic Cloud, 1,60,000 light-years away, by James Webb Telescope for first time. The ice surrounding protostar ST6 contained prebiotic compounds, ethanol, acetaldehyde, and acetic acid, which can form amino acids. The findings indicate that the chemical precursors of life may exist across the universe.
