Jailed activist Sonam Wangchuk's wife Gitanjali Angmo dismissed allegations of his "Pakistan link" saying that their visit to Pakistan was purely professional and climate-focused. She said that Wangchuk had been protesting in the "most Gandhian way possible" and situation escalated on September 24 due to actions of CRPF. Four people had died during statehood protests in Leh on September 24.
