Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina came to power by leading a military coup in 2009. Following major nationwide protests in the country this week, Rajoelina was impeached from his role by lawmakers. The military, headed by Michael Randrianirina who was commander in an elite CAPSAT army unit that played key role during 2009 coup, has now taken power in the country.
