A remote island chain in southern Japan has recorded more than 1,000 earthquakes in the past two weeks. "It's very scary to even fall asleep. It feels like it's always shaking," said a resident of Tokara islands, about the earthquakes recorded since June 21. The area regularly experiences earthquakes but the number of recent tremors has been unusual, reports said.
