Over 12,000 teacher posts are vacant in Kendriya and Navodaya Vidyalayas across India, Union MoS for Education Jayant Chaudhary told Rajya Sabha. "A total of 7,765 teacher posts in Kendriya Vidyalaya...and 4,323 teacher posts in Navodaya Vidyalaya...are lying vacant across the country as of date," he said. Vacancies arise due to various reasons, including resignations, transfers, he added.
